Violence Against Women

Violence against Women (VAW) has been occurring in many forms, e.g. physical, sexual, social, psychological and economic. These forms of violence are interrelated, and affect women throughout her life, i.e. from birth till death. Women who experience violence suffer a range of health problems; subsequently their ability to participate in public life is diminished. Violence against Women (VAW) is rampant in Nepal. VAW harms families and communities across generations, and reinforces other forms of violence in the society. It also impoverishes women, their families, communities and nation.

This platform is recognized as Women Human Rights Defenders Campaign that has been ongoing since 2005.
