महिलाहरुको जैविक संरचनाको कारण निश्चित उमेर समूह विच प्राकृतिक रुपमा हुने मासिक धर्मलाई विषय बनाई मध्यपश्चिमाञ्चल र सुदूरपश्चिमाञ्चलका विशेष गरी कालिकोट, डडेल्धुरा, दैलेख, हुम्ला, जुम्ला, अछाम, बाजुरा, डोटी, बझाङ आदि पहाडी जिल्लाहरुमा सामाजिक विकृतिको रुपमा रहेको छाउपडी प्रथा महिलाहरुको स्वास्थ्य र सुरक्षा सम्वन्धी अधिकारको हनन हो। यस प्रथा अनुसार पहिलो मासिक धर्म (रजस्वला) हुने बालिकाले ११–१५ दिन सम्म, अरु केटीहरुले ५ दिन सम्म र विवाहिता महिलाले ४ दिन सम्म छाउपडि गोठमा बस्नु पर्ने (स्वास्थ्य सुरक्षाको दृष्टिकोण जोखिम हुने ) हुन्छ। उक्त समयमा सार्वजनिक स्थान (धारो, बाटो, विद
