Violence survivor network "Agreni" formed and submit demand letter to different political parties

Kathmandu, 24th sept-2017

"Agreni", violence survivor network has been formed in the leadership of Shanti Paswan, Siraha. The network aim to raise voice against violence to women and access justice for affected women. There are 14 members of six different districts. WOREC create an environment to form this network organizing district level workshops at kailali, Dhanusha, Siraha , Morang, Sunsari and Udaypur on “Where is my Justice”.In the preparatory day of the National Consultation program, all the violence survivors of different districts shared their stories and demand for justice. They all together prepared a consolidated demand letter to present and submit different concerned stakeholders.

"Agreni" presented their 24 points demand and 16 points declarations among 125 participants including different concerned stakeholder at National Consultation held at National Human Right Commission.

Similarly, demand and declaration was also submitted to the concerned authority in different political parties- UML, Nepali Congress and Maoists where the political leaders gave their commitment and became accountable towards justice mechanism.

Women need to organize ourselves so that our demand can be amplified and the concerned ones become accountable towards us. So, survivors were assured that access to justice is a process and it can’t be accessed through one program only.
